[1]And you were [2]dead in the trespasses and sins 2 [3]in which you once walked, following the course of this world, following [4]the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in [5]the sons of disobedience— 3 among whom we all once lived in [6]the passions of our flesh, carrying out the desires of the body[7] and the mind, and [8]were by nature [9]children of wrath, like the rest of mankind.[10] 4 But[11] God, being [12]rich in mercy, [13]because of the great love with which he loved us, 5 even [14]when we were dead in our trespasses, [15]made us alive together with Christ—[16]by grace you have been saved— 6 and raised us up with him and [17]seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, 7 so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable [18]riches of his grace in [19]kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. 8 For [20]by grace you have been saved [21]through faith. And this is [22]not your own doing; [23]it is the gift of God, 9 [24]not a result of works, [25]so that no one may boast.[26]
